Largesse at Moturekareka Island with the Riva in the background - February 1999 We decided not to go staright to Great Barrier Island but to spend another day in the area, including a trip out through the Northern Channel and back round to to have a look at the wreck of the Riva on the beach. It was so nice even Pauline had a swim off the back of the boat and a row round. The round trip of 24 NM finished our getting to know Largesse ready for the first serious passage of 30 NM across completely open sea.
